Joe Spuria

Project Manager

How do you describe your role?

Building strong client and partner relationships and making the builder’s life easier.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

As a people person (most of the time), I enjoy connecting with a wide range of people including partners and clients, our fantastic onsite teams and the amazing team at Vast HQ.

I love seeing our on-site team members develop and grow. An important part of my role is to offer guidance and support, and set up the systems and structures to ensure they can deliver great work with a minimum of fuss.

What projects are you currently working on?

Union Quarter: Despite some significant challenges, we’ve been able to adjust, adapt and push through. We’re now on track to successfully deliver the project on time, on spec and on budget.

Upcoming projects: Pace Coburg; The Queens Bridge.

What do you love most about working at Vast?

Our values and family culture. There’s a real sense of teamwork and togetherness that runs across the board. I’m grateful for the support I receive from above and below; everyone pitches in to ensure we deliver on our promises.

What does the future hold?

As a business, we will continue to look for innovative ways to make our clients and partners look good.

What’s something that people don’t know about you?

I despise Nutella! Tried it once when I was 6 and instantly vomited. Never touched it since. This Nutella mania drives me “nuts”; seeing it on a pizza makes me cringe. Love nuts, hate Nutella.
